Catherine Halleck

Dog playing ball
This energetic painting was created by Beyond the Brushes member, Catherine Halleck. Catherine attended Saint Cloud University in Minnesota, where she attained a BS in Art. She painted during her college experience in the 70s but reached a plateau that she couldn't seem to overcome. Frustrated, she stopped painting. However, about 1 year ago, she decided to join Beyond the Brushes and dip her toes back in the water.

I am so happy Catherine decided to return to painting, and she is thrilled with her progress. This painting in particular is a testament to that progress as she noticed that there wasn't really a notable difficulty in creating it. It really brings out the more delicate colors in the fur. As for her favorite part? Catherine delighted in the moment she was able to see all of the elements she desired coming together in her painting, and I can see why.

Catherine noted that...

"Joining Beyond the Brushes was exactly what I needed to move forward with my art experience. It has given me a new future to work towards, allowing me to combine my traditional art background and my photography with my Photoshop knowledge."

For Catherine, Beyond the Brushes has been a breath of fresh air. The lessons accommodate any level of experience, and the community maintains an encouraging and friendly atmosphere. Her personal experience led her to say...

"I highly recommend Beyond the Brushes for anyone interested in learning digital painting...Beyond the Brushes is priceless!"

Thank you, Catherine, for returning to painting and for continuing to share your adorable animals with us. Seeing your growth and renewed vigor for art is a gratifying experience.
