Kimberly Guardipee

Girl looking at bee
This loveable painting was created by Beyond the Brushes member, Kimberly Guardipee. Kimberly joined the community in the Fall of 2019.

Prior to joining, she had enjoyed painting in acrylics throughout her teenage years before attempting to learn Corel Painter. However, she never truly bonded with the program. Obviously, she has bonded with Photoshop. 🤗

Kimberly's favorite part of this painting was creating an art piece out of it. You see, this is an image she has returned to again and again over the course of several years. Once she started the hand rendering process, she said, "it all started to fall together." The insects proved to be the most and least fun parts. Painting the bumblebee was a fun-filled process, whereas deciding whether to keep the butterfly in the girl's hair was the most difficult decision.

In terms of her experience with Beyond the Brushes, Kimberly said...

"This is hands down one of the best educational classes I’ve ever taken! Michelle is easy to understand and a fantastic teacher.  The lessons are on point, and I highly recommend this to anyone wanting to learn to hand render images."

Thank you, Kimberly, for your kind words and for sharing your artwork. 😊 This piece speaks volumes about your ability to control the outcome while also tapping into your inner artist. I am anticipating many more where you let your creativity take flight.
