Susie joined the community back in December 2019. Now, I know what you're asking. When was this painting created? Would you believe it if I told you March 2020? Wowza! 😲 In just 3 months, she really learned a lot!
Susie mentioned her own astonishment saying...
"I have taken a class or two in Painter, but as soon as I returned home, it was all forgotten due to life happening. This format that you have put together is perfect for me. I am truly learning and putting things into practice until I understand what I'm doing."
As a certified master craftsman and a professional photographer of 40 years, Susie still strives to take her art to a new level. In this piece, she said the knowledge she gained over those three months all came together. And what a result!!! She was elated to be able to look into her grandson's eyes and realize she actually captured the handsome, deep blue. Though she mentioned her struggle with the value structure in the background, it is not present in the final portrait. Truly a work of art to be proud of and to cherish.
As for her experience with Beyond the Brushes, Susie associates it with the word "value."
"I wanted to add to my comments that this online class is such a great value. I have spent thousands of dollars going to in-person classes, which are wonderful; however, I forget so much of the class by the time I get home. Not sure about the wording, but you get the picture. A $39.00 per month charge is inexpensive in comparison."
